The Las Vegas shooting at the country music festival near Mandalay Bay has been described as the worst in modern American history.
64-year-old Stephen Paddock is the suspect who killed 50 people and over 400 injured in the worst shooting for decades.
There has been a numerous amount of video footage appearing on social media of the moment when the suspect attacked concert goers in Las Vegas. Apparently, the shooter fired from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
A rare video has emerged which can be seen below which shows a woman driver casually driving around the area of the hotel and you can hear shots being fired. It all seems eerily calm when the shooting happens.
You can hear the woman’s disturbing commentary in the car while it’s happening around her. The video then shows people running around in distress and the radio is reporting the incident as it’s happening.
The full video is here:
There is so much footage online featuring video of the incident and this particular harrowing video has emerged on the 3rd October which is very disturbing.
We have collated together a few comments on the Facebook page that have mentioned some really good points on this current Las Vegas shooting.
Here they are:
Loretta Ward “Obviously gun control isn’t the answer. Has anyone heard of the city of Chicago? Wasted time and politics on gun legislation that means diddly squat. This country needs more mental health aide. Most people with mental health issues get turned away or no one wants to take the responsibility of saying “so and so should really get some help” or “something wrong with this person, we should report it” But do they?? No! Because everyone is more worried about picking up their damn phones to record people instead of help or call for help. Everyone has the potential to stop something like this from happening they just have to know what to look for”.
Robert Butler, We don’t need more gun control. Criminals don’t follow the laws. That’s why they’re criminals. You’re going to take the guns from people who could have used them they way they were intended for. Stop the bad guys.
Chris Dunlap Not ever has a gun, got up out the corner and killed someone, hate in our hearts is the killer. If someone harbors this much hatred they’ll find a way. I have owned multiple guns for years. A gun is a tool sometimes reaching the wrong hands Pray for our nation to be uplifted from all this hate I so worry about my grandson
Ben Fraser So in Australia we had a massacre in 1996. About 40 people were killed. The government outlawed all automatic and semi-automatic weapons. Haven’t had a single mass shooting since. I love guns, I own several, but maybe the US needs to consider how many mass shootings occur over there and reconsider your 2nd amendment and tighten the laws just a bit….
Mike Belvin If not guns it would be a multitude of other things. Mentally ill criminals will always find a way.
Clint Bump we need strict gun control and stronger background checks, the killings have to stop.
Tyler Alexander Mental health evaluation with every purchase.
Brian Laroche I think gun control is not the answer if a few other people were allowed to have guns you think the one that illegally did or brought the gun in and shot that many people would have gotten away with shooting as many as they did!!!! No, it’s a fact that if someone else carried there would have been fewer deaths.
Jason Wilson Okay listen, people, this man did not buy this gun in a store it’s fully automatic and he did not buy this in the store regular citizens are not allowed to have fully automatic weapons unless they go through a stringent background check and get a class 3 license which means you have to keep it in a gun vault. It also means every time you take it out of that gun vault you have to call the ATF and let him know where you’re going, and when you’ll be back you have to call them soon as you get back and they have an open search warrant to your house at any time they can come in and look for the automatic weapon that is a class 3 license.
This is just a few of the comments on the Facebook post. We will add more comments from the Facebook page and update the article.
There has been many Tweets circulating from both sides of the political coin as expected:
My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 2, 2017
Michelle & I are praying for the victims in Las Vegas. Our thoughts are with their families & everyone enduring another senseless tragedy.
— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) October 2, 2017
This has been labeled the worst shooting in modern American history.
So what is the solution? Various media pages are having varied views on the gun issue in America and both sides of the debate have some good points.
Chicago is a fine example of how gun laws have no difference to how many incidents there is each year. The Tylt has an article on this here.
Now many people are against any gun laws in the US and Vox magazine has an interesting article regarding this gun problem in the States.
Our heart goes out to the victims of this recent fatal shooting and we hope that there are no more incidents as horrific as this.
